- A bathing suit. This may seem like common sense, but be sure to bring a bathing suit as most ships in the Holland cruise lines have both indoor and outdoor pools. Even if you are taking a cruise to Alaska, you can still use a bathing suit.
- Extra cash. Although your cruise vacation includes just about everything, you will want to make sure that you take along some extra cash to buy gifts and use for tipping. It is common to tip your waiter at dinner as well as anyone who performs extra tasks for you.
- Dress clothes. Holland Cruise Lines, like other cruise ships, offer a bit of old world elegance as everyone dresses up for dinner with the captain. You will most likely have one evening of fine dining and dancing and you want to make sure you dress nicely.

- Camera. Do not forget your camera. Again, this may seem like common sense, but you will want to remember your holiday and there is no better way to do so than through film. If you have a camcorder, you may want to take that along as well.
- Anti motion sickness pills. Holland Cruise lines consist of large ships. Chances are that you will not experience motion sickness. However, just to be on the safe side, pick up some pills at the drugstore prior to your trip. Once you have been on board for a few hours, chances are any motion sickness will disappear.
